Every Big Blue Bus route will be free on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, the transit agency announced Oct. 19.

The fare waiver covers all passengers on all regular routes, whether they are heading to a polling place or not, according to Patch. Riders across Santa Monica and surrounding Westside communities can board without paying for the full service day.

No special pass is required.

The agency posted the announcement on its X account, urging riders to plan their trips and "make your vote count."

The free-ride promotion is not new. Big Blue Bus offered the same deal during the November 2024 general election, according to Patch, continuing a practice the agency has followed across multiple election cycles.

Riders with questions can call Big Blue Bus customer service at (310) 451-5444 or visit the Big Blue Bus website to plan a trip.
