The Santa Monica Swim Center's summer pool party is back Friday, Aug. 14, giving families one more reason to squeeze the last drops out of summer before the facility shifts to fall hours later this month.

Splash Night runs from 4 to 7 p.m. and features a floating obstacle course, pool floats and open sundeck access for all ages. Regular admission fees apply, and admission is required for everyone entering the facility.

The city's Parks and Recreation department billed the event as a high-energy evening of water fun for all ages, noting the obstacle course, lounging floats and sundeck are all available during the three-hour window. The listing's language — "Your Favorite Summer Pool Party is Back!" — signals the event is a returning favorite.

The timing matters. The Swim Center announced that fall hours begin Monday, Aug. 24, meaning Splash Night lands among the final stretch of summer programming at the pool.

One note for families planning to attend: the city's listing says regular admission fees apply with no registration needed, while the Santa Monica Sun's community calendar lists the event as requiring tickets. Residents may want to check with the Swim Center before heading over.
