Experience and public service

Calderon has held the Division 4 board seat since 2007, according to BallotReady. His ballot designation for the 2026 election is "Director, Water Replenishment District of So. Calif."

Calderon states on his campaign website that he has served as mayor, councilmember, city clerk and director over the course of his public service career. He also states he has worked as proprietor and operator of CPR Angeles and as a teacher and teacher adviser at the LAUSD Division of Adult and Career Education starting in 2004.

A Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office document dated Jan. 3, 2018, shows Calderon resigned from the Maywood City Council on Dec. 13, 2017, as part of a settlement with the District Attorney's Office.

Calderon also worked as an administrator at Redwood Family Care Network from 2021 to 2022, according to BallotReady.

In his nursing career, Calderon states he has supported individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in adult residential facilities and assisted surgical recovery patients in hospital settings. He also states he supported pediatric and geriatric patients through home health and provided hospice care.

On the issues

Water independence: Calderon supports the district's Water Independence Now program, known as WIN. According to the district website, he believes the region can become independent from imported water for basin recharge through sound management and innovation.
